Thursday May 2nd - LHHS Peer Mentors presentation in the theater

Thursday May 9th - Brad Sturgeon (LHHS principal) here in theater from 6:30 - 7:30 for parents of grade 8 students to receive information about Leo Hayes

Thursday, May 16th - Grade eights go for a tour at LHHS between 11:00 and 12:00

Friday, May 17th - LHHS Lions in Motion (Teens against Tobacco Use) classroom presentations in the morning.

NMS seeking Girls Softball and Track & Field Coaches

The NMS Athletics Department is seeking volunteers for our Spring Track and Field team as well as our Girls Softball teams.

Our Track and Field season is 3 weeks long and our girls softball season is 4 weeks long

SPACE CAMP MEETING

We will be holding a Space Camp Meeting on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the school. The meeting wil be held upstairs in room 205. We need one parent from each family to be there. If you have not paid your full amount for Space Camp, please bring it with you to the meeting. If you have any questions, please contact the school at 453-5436.

2nd Annual NMS Move-A-Thon!

On May 16th NMS is hosting the 2nd Annual Move-A-Thon which involves every student and teacher in the school walking, jogging, or sprinting as many laps (400m) as possible in 30 minutes! Last year as a school we travelled over 1780km in one day!

Friends of NMS Update

Nashwaaksis Middle School is looking for nominations to fill the three positions of Co-chairs for the Friends of NMS COMMITTEE. To place nominations you can email alan.atkins@nbed.nb.ca or drop by the school. Nomination forms and ballot box will be at the school, just ask at the office. The deadline for nominations is May 3, 2013 with voting to run May 7th and 8th.

IMPORTANT OTTAWA INFORMATION

1) Ottawa families are reminded that the final payment is due May 1. For most families, the balance owing is $300.

After May 1, students who withdraw from the excursion will not have any monies returned.

2) The Garbage Bag Fundraiser monies are now due. Please have your child bring the $$$ ASAP.

3) On Monday, students will be coming home with Roommates and Touring Team forms that parents/guardians must sign. They are to be returned May 2.
