Track & Field Information

All students at all grade levels are encouraged to participate in Track and Field this Spring
3 mini meets will be held in anticipation of our District Finals selection on May 29th.
Practices will be held at noon hour every Wednesday,Thursday, and Friday.
Students must return a signed permission slip (see right side of this page for printable document) to the P.E Department in order to participate in any mini meet or District event.
If a student is selected to represent NMS at District Finals, a $10 fee will be charged for a t-shirt
The following is a breakdown of dates, times, and events this month

May 15 - NMS - 4:00pm - 80/100m sprints, 800m
May 21 - NMS - 4:00pm - 150/200m, 1500m, Shotput
May 27 - Bliss Carman - 4:00 - High Jump Districts
May 28 - NMS - 4:00pm - 300m, long jump, Softball Throw
May 29 - NMS - 9:00am - District Finals (All events as well as 4x100 relay)

Girls Softball Tryouts and Schedule

The 2nd NMS Girls softball tryouts will be held on Thursday May 16th from 3:00-4:00. All Girls are to meet in the Fieldhouse
The 2013 Spring schedule is attached
Player fees are $25 and are to be made payable to Nashwaaksis Middle School along with a signed Permission slip (See Documents tab on right of this page)

Boys practice Friday, March 8 from 11:00 until 1:00 at the Fieldhouse. Practices next week are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 until 6:00, parent meeting on Thursday after practice. Fees are due at the office.

NMS Girls earn Gold at Soccer Invitational!

The NMS Varsity Girls won 1st place at the annual NMS soccer invitational over the weekend
The Girls defeated Devon, Bliss Carman, George Street, and Stanley without giving up a single goal!
Well done Ladies!

Northside Basketball Tryouts

The Northside Minor Basketball Association will host tryouts for girls in Grade 6 for its mini basketball program on Sept. 5 and Sept. 6.

Times and locations will be announced on the NMBA’s Web site at www.northsidehoops.com

The tryouts are open for any female players in Grade 6 at NMS. Boys’ tryouts will begin the week of Sept. 23.

Our Basketball tryouts have begun and all dates and times have been posted on the Basketball Calendar. To access this schedule please click on the web link on the right side of this page.
Games, Practices, and Tournament times will be added to the Basketball Calendar frequently so be sure to bookmark the page for easy access!
Player Fees and Permission Slips are to be dropped off at the Front Office by players immediately after being selected to a Basketball team (Please see the Documents section located on the right side of this page)

Our 2011-2012 Basketball Season is coming up soon (tryouts - Beginning of December) and NMS Athletics is once again in search of anyone interested in coaching the following age levels (Varsity Coaching positions have been filled)...
Grade 6 Boys and Girls
Grade 6/7 Boys and Girls (Junior Varsity)
Grade 7/8 Boys and Girls (Tier II)
Experience is encouraged but not required
